The Montreal Association of Chadō Urasenke Tankōkai

We founded in 1981 with 13 members as a Chadô Club and changed to the Association of Chadô Urasenke Tankôkai in Montréal in 2005. Presently, we are the second executive team, transferred in 2006 with approx. 35 members. We regularly practice Chadô and participating with many cultural activities.

The philosophy of Chado

The philosophy of Chado is based on four principles: Wa-Kei-Sei-Jyaku, which means in english: Harmony, Respect, Purity and Tranquillity. These principles apply to the relationship between guests and host, between utensils and people, between nature and people.
